Test type:
Circulating Tumor Cell Tests
These tests can detect circulating tumor cells. These cells have been separated from the original tumor and entered the blood, lymphatic system or another part of the body, and may produce a second type of tumor.
Researchers have made significant progress in detecting and separating these cells, but
circulating tumor cell tests are not yet 100% accurate.
Studies have found that in people with certain types of cancer (breast cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, and skin cancer), our test has a sensitivity of 87% to circulating tumor cells and a specificity of 83% (Papasotiriou I. et, 2015).

The relationship between this test and cancer treatment

1) Can the Oncotrace test distinguish between benign and malignant tumor cells?
This test can provide information about the effects of specific anticancer drugs and targeted therapies on individual patients. The test combines two procedures, combining molecular and cellular methods: epigenetic analysis and viability analysis.
2) What tests are recommended to identify active substances and drugs that are effective on tumors?
We recommend the Onconomics or Onconomics Plus test.
3) Can the circulating tumor cells in the tissue sample be tested?
We calculate the number of circulating tumor cells from the total amount of blood cells, expressed as the volume of circulating tumor cells per milliliter of blood. This cannot be calculated from tissue samples. In order to perform a circulating tumor cell test, a blood sample must be provided. Brain tumors are an exception because these cancer cells cannot be detected in the blood.
4) Can circulating tumor cell tests be performed during chemotherapy?
After chemotherapy, the patient must wait 7 days before being tested for RGCC circulating tumor cells.
5) After taking samples, how often does it take to report?
