Gerson Therapy

What is Gerson Therapy?
People use Gerson Therapy to treat cancer and other diseases. It is based on mineral substances, enzymes, and other dietary elements.

Three key components of the therapy:
1. Diet: Organic fruit, vegetables, and grains offer the body adequate vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and other nutrients. Fruits and vegetables usually have low sodium and high potassium levels.
2. Supplements: Add certain substances to your diet to help correct cellular metabolism
3. Detox: Treatment, including enemas, to remove toxic (harmful) substances from the body

History of
Gerson Therapy

Gerson started to experience severe migraine headaches at a young age, sometimes spending 3 days a week in a dark room, enduring nausea, vomiting, and sensitive eyes. He describes the feeling of his migraine – as his skull was about to split in half. He tried many treatments but none of them help resolve his issues. In order to solve his extreme headache, he read a lot of books and medical articles and consulted with a lot of medical authorities. Eventually, he found his nausea and vomiting symptoms are caused by his body’s inability to digest certain foods.

A lady from Italy offered him guidance on adjusting his eating habit, and his migraine headache got a substantial level of relief.  This led him to take a more proactive approach to his diet.  If he managed to have suitable food with his diet, the level, and frequency of his migraine headache diminished.  On the other hand, it would rise in 20 minutes if not managing well with his food choice. For instance, he tried a diet with milk, it has no effect. However, it helps a little if he stopped having any milk products. He even started a diet with only apple consumption, this was very effective.    He progressively added different foods, until his migraine headache was completely cured.

Gerson Therapy is based on the belief that the disease is caused by the accumulation of unidentified toxins, and attempts to treat the patients’ disease with a predominantly vegetarian diet; which includes an hourly glass of organic juice and various dietary supplements.

Dr. Gerson began to treat other patients, and in the course of treatment for one patient, he discovered that the diet that treated his headache also cured his skin tuberculosis. This discovery prompted Gerson to further study the diet and successfully treated many tuberculosis patients. But Dr. Gerson is not satisfied with this, he also applied this method to treat other kinds of tuberculosis, such as pulmonary tuberculosis, kidney tuberculosis, bone tuberculosis.

In treating a variety of migraine and tuberculosis cases, Dr. Gerson found that many patients also suffered from other diseases, including diabetes, allergies, heart disease, lupus erythematosus, kidney disease, emphysema, multiple sclerosis, and cancer. Blood pressure, asthma, allergies, kidney damage, arthritis, stroke sequelae, arteriosclerosis, etc. These acute or chronic degenerative diseases also disappeared!

Biography of
Doctor Gerson

Max Gerson was born in Von Gerson, Germany on October 18, 1881. A well-known professor at the University of Berlin thought he was a super mathematical genius, saying that it was a waste of him not to study mathematics! However, since the future path of mathematics as a Jew wasn’t too promising, the whole family has no objection (including himself) and agreed that he should become a doctor.

Gerson immigrated to the United States in 1936, passed the medical board exam, and became a U.S. citizen in 1942. The rest of his family died at the hands of the Nazis. In the United States, he developed Gerson Therapy, which Gerson applied to several cancer patients, a diet-based therapy for cancer and most chronic degenerative diseases. In 1958, Gerson published a book in which he claimed to have cured 50 advanced cancer patients: Cancer Treatment: Results of 50 Cases.

The theory behind the use of Gerson Therapy to treat cancer?

The point of view of Gerson therapy:  The occurrence and development of cancer is due to the accumulation of toxic substances in the body, and metabolism changes in cells. Dr. Gerson believes that the disease process produces more toxins and the liver becomes overworked. Cancer patients have cells with too much sodium and too little potassium, which can lead to tissue damage and organ weakening, according to Dr. Gerson.

The goal of Gerson Therapy is to restore body health by repairing the liver and bringing metabolism back to normal. According to Dr. Gerson, this can be achieved by removing toxins from the body and building up the immune system through diet and supplements. Enemas are said to widen the bile ducts in the liver, thereby helping to release toxins. The liver is further overworked as the treatment regimen breaks down cancer cells and removes toxins from the body. Pancreatin is given to reduce the demand load of a weakened liver and pancreas to create enzymes for digestion. Organic diets and nutritional supplements are used to strengthen the immune system and support the body as the regimen removes toxins from the body. Foods that are low in sodium and high in potassium are said to help correct tissue damage caused by too much sodium in cells.

How is the Gerson therapy administered?

Gerson Therapy requires strict adherence to many details of its treatment plan, some key parts include:

Drink 13 glasses of juice a day. Juices must be freshly made from organic fruits and vegetables and consumed hourly. Eat a vegetarian meal of organically grown fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Take a variety of supplements, including:

1. Potassium
2. Lugol solution (potassium iodide, iodine and water)
3. Coenzyme Q10 infused with vitamin B12. (The original protocol used crude liver extract in place of CoQ10.)
4. Vitamins A, C and B3 (niacin)
5. Linseed oil
6. Pancreatin
7. Pepsin (a stomach enzyme)

Use coffee or chamomile enemas regularly to flush out toxins from your body.

Prepare food without salt, spices, or oils, and don’t use aluminum cookware or utensils.

SAFETY

Frequent enemas may cause chemistry changes in normal blood, which are chemicals that are naturally produced in the body and keep muscles, heart, and other organs working properly.

There is a chance that coffee enemas will remove too much potassium from your body, which can lead to:

  • Infection
  • dehydration
  • syncope
  • Imbalance of salt and other minerals in the body
  • heart and lung problems
  • Frequent long-term enemas have a chance of causing constipation and intestinal inflammation (colitis)

Before considering Gerson Therapy or Enema, please consult and seek medical professional advice!
