ABOUT VITALIPID® N ADULT
What Is Vitalipid® N Adult?
Vitalipid® N Adult is a fat-soluble multivitamin preparation from Fresenius Kabi for adult parenteral nutrition. It provides vitamins A, D, E and K as one source of micronutrient support within a comprehensive intravenous nutrition plan.
For individuals who require intravenous nutrition support because of health status, reduced oral intake or impaired gastrointestinal absorption, vitamins and other nutrients should be considered as part of overall nutrition management rather than focusing only on calories or a single nutrient.
Vitalipid® N Adult is not a routine wellness vitamin supplement. Whether it should be included in a nutrition support plan, as well as the formulation, method of use and monitoring arrangements, should be determined by healthcare professionals according to individual circumstances.
Important: This service is intended for intravenous nutrition support in a clinical setting. The actual ingredients, combinations, frequency and arrangements must be determined by healthcare professionals following an individual assessment.
FAT-SOLUBLE VITAMINS
Four Essential Fat-Soluble Vitamins
Fat-soluble vitamins are involved in many essential physiological functions. For individuals requiring parenteral nutrition, the need for supplementation and the appropriate method should be assessed within a complete nutrition plan.
Vitamin A
Vitamin A · RetinolPlays a role in normal vision, maintenance of epithelial tissues and physiological functions related to the immune system, and is one of the body’s important fat-soluble micronutrients.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D₂ · ErgocalciferolInvolved in calcium and phosphorus metabolism and physiological processes related to bone health, while also contributing to normal muscle and other bodily functions.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E · TocopherolA fat-soluble antioxidant nutrient involved in protecting cell membranes and supporting normal redox balance.
Vitamin K
Vitamin K₁ · PhytomenadioneInvolved in the formation of normal blood-clotting proteins and related physiological processes. Supplementation should take current medications and individual health status into account.
WHY PARENTERAL NUTRITION
Why Might Intravenous Nutrition Support Be Needed?
Under normal circumstances, vitamins and other nutrients are mainly obtained through food. In certain health situations, however, there may be a gap between actual intake, absorption and the body’s nutritional needs.
More Is Not Always Better
Intravenous nutrition should be considered in the context of oral intake, nutritional status, underlying conditions, liver and kidney function, and other clinical factors. The use of Vitalipid® N Adult should be based on a comprehensive nutritional assessment.
Insufficient Daily Intake
When appetite, food intake or overall dietary completeness declines, further assessment of actual nutritional status may be appropriate.
Limited Gastrointestinal Absorption
Some individuals may be unable to obtain sufficient nutrients effectively through the gastrointestinal tract due to their health condition, and alternative nutritional routes may need to be considered.
Receiving Parenteral Nutrition
Comprehensive parenteral nutrition involves not only macronutrients, but also vitamins, electrolytes, trace elements and other micronutrient components.
Nutritional Needs During Specific Health Stages
During certain illnesses, recovery periods or stages of increased nutritional risk, the medical team may need to reassess the overall nutritional support approach.
COMPLETE NUTRITION SUPPORT
More Than Simply “Adding Vitamins”
Nutritional status is not determined by a single nutrient. Fat-soluble vitamins, water-soluble vitamins, amino acids, fats, electrolytes, trace elements and overall energy intake should all be considered within the same nutritional framework.
At BMS Clinic, we first seek to understand each individual’s current nutritional and health status before considering intravenous nutrition support, rather than simply combining multiple nutrients without an overall assessment.

ASSESSMENT
WHO MAY CONSIDER ASSESSMENT
When Might Further Nutritional Assessment Be Considered?
The following situations do not necessarily mean that Vitalipid® N Adult is required. They may indicate that a professional nutritional and health assessment could be considered before deciding whether further support is appropriate.
Persistent Loss of Appetite
A noticeable recent reduction in food intake or difficulty maintaining the usual level of dietary intake.
Incomplete or Limited Diet
A persistently limited variety of foods may make it difficult to obtain adequate micronutrients consistently.
Reduced Gastrointestinal Absorption
Health-related factors may limit the normal absorption of nutrients through the gastrointestinal tract.
Receiving Parenteral Nutrition
The overall parenteral nutrition plan may require further review of vitamin and micronutrient provision.
Increased Nutritional Requirements
During certain health or recovery stages, nutritional provision may need to be reassessed to determine whether it remains adequate.
Further Support Recommended by the Medical Team
Relevant laboratory results, medical history or clinical factors may indicate a need for further nutritional assessment by healthcare professionals.
BMS CLINIC PROCESS
BMS Intravenous Nutrition Support Pathway
Vitalipid® N Adult is considered within a complete medical assessment pathway, beginning with the individual’s health and nutritional needs before any subsequent arrangements are made.
Professional Health Assessment
Review current health status, dietary intake, medical history, medications and nutritional supplements currently being used.
Nutritional Needs Assessment
Assess whether further nutritional support may be required based on individual circumstances and whether the intravenous route may be appropriate.
Individualized Nutrition Plan
Qualified healthcare professionals determine whether Vitalipid® N Adult or other appropriate nutritional components may be required.
Administration in a Medical Setting
Relevant intravenous nutritional support is provided in an appropriate medical setting under professional supervision.
Ongoing Monitoring and Adjustment
Follow-up requirements are assessed according to health status, nutritional needs and relevant clinical indicators, with adjustments made when appropriate.
SAFETY & ASSESSMENT
What Should Be Assessed Before Use?
Fat-soluble vitamins can be stored in the body, so higher doses are not necessarily better. Nutrition support should take current intake, health status and medication use into account.
Assessment Before Arrangement
Vitalipid® N Adult is a medical product used in parenteral nutrition and is not a self-administered daily supplement. Suitability should be determined by healthcare professionals based on individual health status.
Current Nutritional Intake
Dietary intake, other vitamin supplements and existing intravenous nutritional support should be reviewed to help avoid duplicate or unnecessary supplementation.
Liver and Kidney Function & Medical History
Relevant organ function and overall medical history may influence the design of the nutritional support plan and the level of ongoing monitoring required.
Current Medications
Certain nutrients may need to be considered together with existing prescription medications, particularly where coagulation management is involved.
Allergy History and Product Ingredients
Personal allergy history and relevant product ingredients should be reviewed before use so that a qualified healthcare professional can assess suitability.
WHY BMS CLINIC
Our Focus Is Comprehensive Nutrition Management
The goal is not simply to supplement one vitamin, but to first understand current nutritional and health needs and then determine which approach is most appropriate
Professional Medical Assessment
Medical history, nutritional status, current medical arrangements and relevant risk factors are reviewed before considering whether intravenous nutritional support may be appropriate.
Individualized Nutritional Approach
Nutritional requirements vary from person to person. An appropriate approach is developed according to individual needs rather than applying a single standardized plan.
Monitoring in a Medical Setting
Relevant intravenous nutritional support should be provided in an appropriate medical setting under professional monitoring.
Comprehensive Nutritional Management
The overall approach considers vitamins, trace elements, electrolytes and general nutritional status rather than focusing on a single nutrient alone.
